Agamemnon-Agamemnon is the king of Sparta. He had a brother named Menalaes. When Agamemnon went to war he could not bare failure so he sacreficed his daughter Iphigenia.

Iphigenia-Iphigenia is the daughter to Agamemnon. Carchas , the prophet told Agamemnon that his daughter must be sacreficed for the wind to chaige. she must be slain on the altar of artemis said calchas distinctly as the price of a fair wind.

Calchas-The king sought out calchas , the prophet who knew the mind of the gods and could foretell the future. After hours of praying at the altars he advised the king to go home. Agamemnon insisted on a fair wind so calchas told him his daughter must be slain to get a fair wind.

HOMER

Homer is traditionally belived to be a ancient greek poet.  The epic poem Iliad, Homer wrote, tells the story of the Trojan War.  The war between Greece and Troy was fought in 1250 b.c.  Troy was a city in Aisa Minor that is now part of Tukey.  The Iliad and the Odyssey deal with issues of honor and bravery.

OLIVIA                                                                                                                                                                       Olivia Ensor Colidge was born in London , England in October,16,1908.  Olivia studied at Oxford University in Somerville College.  She graduated with a BA in 1931 and an MA in 1940.  She was a teacher in England and USA.  The first book she published is a book called Greek Myths.  She was well known for historcal biographes.  She won the Newberry Award winning for Men of Athens.
